Women's Health Program at Sage

At Sage, our Women's Health program provides holistic, specialized support for all women, wherever they're at in their journey. The program is 3 months long and tailored to each individual, providing support for hormonal imbalances, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum concerns, menopause, and everything in between.

The program is designed for women and those across the gender spectrum who feel like they would benefit from the program, including nonbinary, gender fluid, and trans people.

What can I expect from the Women's Health Program at Sage?
The Sage Women's Health Program takes a tailored, integrative approach to health and wellness. It is designed as a structured 3 month program where you'll meet with multiple Sage providers to support and address your individual needs and concerns.

The first step is the intake process. You will start by completing an assessment in which we will collect information about your concerns, medical history, nutrition and lifestyle habits. You will then meet with our naturopathic doctor who will review this information, and take time with you to better understand the full story. She will determine whether lab testing is needed to fill out the picture, and conduct a nutrition assessment to get a sense of whether any aspect of your eating patterns may be impacting your health. We find that nutrition is a key part of overall health, and sometimes small changes can have a big impact on your sense of wellbeing.

You'll then meet with our doctor of acupuncture, who will review the information collected thus far and investigate further from a Chinese Medicine perspective. You'll have your first acupuncture treatment as part of this initial meeting.

Our team will work together to put together an individualized treatment plan that incorporates acupuncture, herbal medicine, supplements, nutrition, and lifestyle recommendations as appropriate to your unique situation and treatment goals.

Once the intake process is complete, you'll meet with our team on a weekly rotating basis to address your concerns and make progress towards your goals. Sessions will include a monthly check in with our naturopathic doctor, bi-weekly sessions with our doctor of acupuncture and bi-weekly nutrition sessions. Most of the appointments will happen in person at our center in Berkeley, CA, but virtual visits will be available for components of the program as well.

Designed by women, for women
The Women's Health program at Sage was born out of a desire to support the unique, mysterious, and sometimes complex needs of the female reproductive system. Not only is Sage owned by women, but the Women's Health Program was designed by women on our team who are deeply passionate about providing support to other women. Our women's health providers have extensive training in addressing women's health concerns through the lenses of the modalities they practice.

This is a vital time for women to recover from the intensive process of creating, carrying, and birthing a new life. Nourishment protocols, support with bonding with the infant, and supporting any issues like postpartum depression and adjustment to the new lifestyle as a mother.
