Sophia Scheffel, L.Ac

Dr. Sophia Scheffel is a California and nationally licensed acupuncturist and herbalist and holds both a masters and doctorate from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ACTCM) in San Francisco. She's spent the last decade since graduating deepening her studies with masters in classical herbal medicine, acupuncture, spiritual and shamanic work. She's also a practicing Daoist through the Parting Clouds Daoist Temple as well as a student of both Tai Ji and Qi Gong for over 25 years.

Dr. Sophia brings her vast knowledge and passion for all things Chinese Medicine to the table every day with her patients, enabling her to curate a treatment that is fully custom to the needs of the patient. She has a passion for helping folks who struggle with chronic health conditions live fuller more easeful lives. Dr. Sophia has extensive practice in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, autoimmune, digestive, respiratory, neurological and other chronic health conditions as well as oncology support and all areas of women's health.

She is also working on completing a certificate through CIIS in psychedelic-assisted therapies and research. She's excited to bring her passion for Chinese Medicine together with the powers of psychedelic therapies at Sage.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Sophia can be found on a local hiking trail with her dog Coco, kayaking, paddle boarding, backpacking in the Sierras or enjoying a good meal and down time with friends and family.
