Psychiatric Diagnostic Assessment

Dr. Samadhi provides comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic assessments virtually to California residents. Comprehensive diagnostic evaluations assist in clarifying a variety of diagnoses including PTSD, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Eating Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, and other mental and emotional health diagnoses. A client's unique history and current needs are taken into consideration when determining the assessments used. Please note, we do not provide worker’s compensation evaluations, fitness for duty evaluations, or forensic interviews for justice-involved persons. A diagnostic will include the following:

1. Clinical Interview
2. Self-Report Forms
3. Screening for various mental health disorders such as PTSD, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, OCD, Eating Disorders, Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorders, and Personality Disorders using gold-standard semi-structured clinician-administered assessments.
4. Feedback Session
5. Written Report and Recommendations, optional

Benefits of Psychiatric Diagnostic Assessments

Although psychiatric diagnoses can be limiting in their ability to fully capture the breadth of a person’s experience and uphold a pathological rather than holistic perspective, there can be several benefits of receiving a thorough diagnostic assessment. If you’ve been struggling with a variety of symptoms and feel confused about what is happening and how to work on it, psychiatric assessments can be helpful in:

• Providing clarity about what is occurring and not occurring with regards to mental health and mental illness
• Provide a direction for treatment options including recommended psychotherapy options and medications*

Rates for assessments are $225/hour and include interview, administration, scoring and report writing time, and feedback sessions.

*Note that Dr. Samadhi is not a medical doctor and thus does not provide recommendations for any medications including psychiatric. Rather, the diagnostic assessment can reveal the presence of a mental health disorder, which can be brought to a psychiatrist or other prescriber for discussion about medication options.
