Therapy is the support system for your pursuit of a better life. It is the process of "unsticking" yourself; identifying the aspects of your present and past that are currently creating friction in your life in order to find new creative ways to relate to them.

We provide a holistic approach to psychotherapy at our counseling center in Berkeley, CA as well as online. We have a diverse and talented team of therapists who are skilled at helping people heal from trauma, process grief, and make progress when they find themselves "stuck" in life or at a major crossroad. Therapy isn't only about managing symptoms or for times of difficulty, it is also supportive of personal development and self inquiry. For those who are curious about exploring their internal landscape, many of our therapists have a background in transpersonal, depth, and somatic psychotherapy.

Our team offers individual, couple and family therapy and we offer therapy sessions both in person and online via telemedicine.
Our Approach to therapy
Integrative Approach
Our therapy model is rooted in an integrative approach to health and wellness. We see the mind, body, and spirit as interconnected, and our team is trained to recognize all of the ways psychological struggles may manifest themselves. Sage practitioners are skilled at identifying additional care modalities that may be beneficial in conjunction with talk therapy.
The Right Match
Finding the right therapist is essential. We do our best at Sage to support you in finding the right match for you, whether it is with one of our talented in-house therapists or with a colleague in our wide and diverse network.
  • Before you begin working with a Sage therapist, we'll have you complete a short intake via phone or online. Based on your answers, we'll match you with a therapist who we feel will be a good fit and who is best equipped to handle your concerns.

  • You will then have an initial 15 minute phone appointment with the practitioner in which you can assess whether it feels like the right fit. We believe that finding the right therapeutic relationship is important so after the phone consultation if you feel like it wasn't the right fit, you can let our team know and we're always happy to help you find another match.

  • Once you begin working with your therapist, they will propose an ongoing therapy session cadence. Typically this is once a week, but this depends on your individual needs.
