Lalita has been teaching, coaching and counseling people in different contexts for over 20 years. She also has 30 years personal experience navigating her own ADHD and depression. At its core, her approach is relational, somatic, transpersonal and depth-oriented. However, she enjoys collaborating with her clients in discovering which tools are most transformative for each individual. In this exploration, clients can choose to incorporate guided meditations, parts work, CranioSacral touch, sound healing, essential oils, ecotherapy, expressive arts, movement, as well as ACT and DBT exercises. She specializes in working with depression, ADHD, OCD, dual diagnoses, relationships, communication, existential fears, body image, gender, identity and sexuality.
Lalita is currently in a multi-year AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) training program and received her Masters in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She trained in Ketamine-assisted therapy at both CIIS and in the Queer Psychedelic Facilitator training program at Integrate Psychedelic Wellness. She holds an MA in education from UC Berkeley and a BA in Communication from UC San Diego. She is the volunteer director and co-founder of Safer Sex-Positive & Spiritual Communities (3SC), an activist group which promotes transformative justice, trauma-informed practices, and power dynamic education to organizations in the sacred sexuality community.
Lalita is mixed race (white and Latinx). Culturally, she grew up in a predominantly white community and family. She is from California, but has also lived in Mexico, Bali, and Nashville. While she experiences a lot of white privilege, she also deals with a lot with racism. Because many people perceive her as culturally ambiguous, she incurs a lot of assumptions and questions about her racial identity. Lalita is about 75% fluent in Spanish, but it is not her first language. While she does not currently offer sessions in Spanish, she encourages her Spanish-speaking clients to express more nuanced thoughts and emotions in their mother tongue.
Lalita considers herself part of the queer, neurodivergent, polyamorous, sex-positive, and sex worker-allied communities. As a former high school teacher, she enjoys working with adolescents (ages 10 & up) and their families, as well as individuals, couples and polycules. She loves travel, music, dance, writing, drawing, immersive art events, and being a devoted plant mom and auntie to her young nieces and nephews.
