We created Sage to model a new kind of healthcare, one that is effective, holistic, deeply personal, and community-based. We believe the integrative approach is the most powerful route to optimal health. We brought a range of healing modalities together under one roof, with skilled practitioners working collaboratively to provide you with the best care possible.

It is easy to feel lost in the modern healthcare system where it can feel like you are treated as a number. At Sage we prioritize human connection, and strive to support you in ways that are complimentary to all aspects of your healthcare. We designed a clinic where the waiting room feels more like a living room. It is a place where you will not be stigmatized or judged, but instead treated with compassion and care.

We celebrate diversity and welcome people of all ages, genders, races, ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientations, and religious/spiritual beliefs. We brought together a diverse group of practitioners who have experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, lived experiences, and identities. We are committed to undoing all forms of oppression and are sensitive to its impact on target groups.

We strive to make our services widely accessible. This is complex given the current state of the health insurance industry and the lack of reimbursement for alternative health care. Currently, sliding scale therapy and Ketamine Assisted Therapy services are offered at our sister organization Sage Institute in Oakland. We also offer a community supported scholarship at our Berkeley location as resources are available. If you have feedback, ideas or resources to help us increase the accessibility of our services, we would love to hear from you.

With gratitude,

Effective & Equitable Integrative Care

1. We treat our clients with respect, care, and compassion.

2. The mind, body, spirit, community, and environment are interconnected; we strive to address all of these in working with our clients.

3. We welcome people of all races, ethnicities, gender expressions, sexual orientations, ages, religions, sizes and abilities.

4. We take a preventative approach to health care, promoting long-term health and wellbeing.

5. We listen carefully and collaborate with our clients to meet their unique set of goals and needs. We help clients remove obstacles to accessing their innate ability to heal, and support them in taking an active role in developing and maintaining good health.

6. We work with our clients to address both the symptoms and the underlying cause of their problems.

7. It takes a village. We use a treatment team model, collaboration between practitioners, and community programs to support our clients in healing and reaching their highest potential.

8. There is great wisdom in both ancient and modern medicine; we integrate both into our work.
