While everyone's experience is different, there are some common factors:
The medicine or dosing sessions are held at our cozy office in Berkeley, CA. Our providers take special care in preparing a warm and relaxing setting for your session. For the journey itself, some clients like to lie down and go fully inward. They'll use noise cancelling headphones and eyeshades for the majority of their sessions. Others may engage in a mix of movement, somatic work, and talk therapy.
Once you arrive, we make adjustments so the room feels more like your own. Together, we can set up anything you brought that invites more connection to your intention, loved ones, or ancestors.
Before taking the medicine, we'll see how you're doing, review what to expect in the session, and check in about any lingering questions.
We'll use the practices we established during your preparation sessions to help you feel grounded: that might include breathing exercises, gentle movement, meditation, or coloring.
Whether your experience with the medicine feels calming or challenging, your clinician will be by your side, supporting you through your whole journey.
Your provider will check in with you after from the most active phase of your journey. They'll ease you back into the present, and stay with you until you feel ready and willing to engage with the outside world.
You may feel ready to talk about your experience and discuss any new insights or perspectives; however, you can also choose to contemplate your experience quietly and talk about it in the next day's integration session. Whatever decision you make in these moments will be respected.
